Marley

Adrianna got a new puppy! He is 13 weeks old and is a Labradoodle. He is adorable! Kind of at the long, lanky awkward stage. He seems pretty laid back and wants to be where she is.

50

Well my fiftieth came without much excitement. Rick, Adri and I did go out to dinner at Chiles, but no real hoopla. It was pretty much a non event for me. It was by far overshadowed by Joe having turned 30 a few days before!! I remember when 50 sounded old to me but what really hits home is when your kid turns 30! I must be old to have a child that age!!
Sue was wonderful. She made me a dinner with all the fixings, even a delicious dessert, the day after my birthday. That was perfect because I worked a 9 1/2 hr day with over an hour drive each way! Thanks Sue!!
The flowers and balloon are from her also. Now the silly pic is of us at Her birthday celebration. We had a good laugh being in front of a Christmas tree in February!

Happy New Year

Hi all, I am having a horrible time with my computer since I got home. It doesn't want me to go anywhere, keeps freezing when I try to do anything. I would have liked to do a slideshow but instead will try to upload a few.
We went to California for Christmas, the first time since moving 11 years ago. We had a great time! Christmas Eve with the Reid's, Christmas Day with my side, just like always when we lived there. We also went out for our niece's wedding. Bethany and Jameson were married on the 29th in a beautiful ceremony at her church. The reception was fun! Oh, did I mention we also were invited to the rehearsal dinner? Delicious! It too was fun. Kudos to the happy couple for such a wonderful time! (the parents might have had a little to do with it too). Rick's sister had an Open House with all the fixings. It was great being able to relax and visit and eat!

We were able to get a little sight seeing and visiting in too. Rick, Adri, Eric, Joe, Dan and I went to the San Diego Zoo. Then the next day Rick and I went to the Wild Animal park while the 4 "kids" plus Joslyn and John went sightseeing around San Diego.

A quick stop in Garden Grove to drop in on a few of our old neighbors and a scrumptious lunch with Noreen and the girls. Rick and I also made it to the Long Beach Aquarium. Had to get it all in, you never know when we will be out that way again.

Rick's Boo Boo

2 weeks ago I was awakened with "You need to get up". After a few minutes I realized I wasn't dreaming and opened a bleary eye. One look at Rick with his hand holding a finger I knew it was the end of my sleep! Off to the emergency room. It is just past midnight. He had creatively managed to shut a pocket knife on his knuckle. Sliced the whole top right off. At the emergency room they checked it, cleaned it and basically said he would need to see an orthopedic surgeon as soon as possible-they could do nothing for it there. Of course Dr Ray has surgeries on Fridays so they opened the office for Rick to see the PA. Originally he said he would call us so Rick could see Dr Ray in between surgeries but then he called and said come in on Monday. Monday it was decided that surgery was in order. Wouldn't it have been easier to do it the same day? I know for Rick he would have liked to have all the major pain the day it happened insteadof spreading it out! So Wednesday he had surgery and was told to leave the bandage intact until Monday when the DR would remove it. Being Rick, he whipped that bandage off as soon as we got home. He said it was cutting off the circulation. After he took it off he said it wasn't, it just felt like it. The surgery was to sew the tendon, I guess it had a split in it and the Dr also cut his skin to an eliptical shape and sewed it together. Now Rick has a really tight finger. He cannot bend it yet, feels like the stitches will rip open.Tomorrow he goes in to get the stitches out and then he will start exercising it to get it working again.
