Adri's New Year

Adri is starting this school year at a brand new school. It seems to be really nice. 2 stories, all indoors, she is on the 2nd floor. She has the same principal as at the school she was at last year. I went on Saturday to help a little. I am not sure as to how much help I was for her but we helped another teacher that had just had breast cancer surgery unbox and distribute books.
Yesterday was the first day of school and her class list listed 21 students but when the day started she was up to 23. All showed except 1. The enrollment before the school opened was already at capacity and I believe it is beyond capacity now. I did not get a first day of school shot, so after she came home she got a "I survived the first day" shot instead.

Working

The last few days I have been helping out at the schools installing computers. Sounds easy enough doesn't it? Well those suckers (or are we the suckers) come in closed boxes with lots of wrappings and are in pieces. First is stacking each item in its own area. Then to unwrap the CPU's. We had a great assembly (or unassembly) line going. 2 cutters, 2 CPU grabbers, a styrofoam dude, the extra boxes grabber, the extra boxes stacker, and the tear the box down person. Once that is done then it is a little bit of divide and conquer. Some one has to scan the CPU's in, 3 of us unboxed the mice and chords, then flattened those boxes, 1 person cut open the monitor boxes and well I am not sure what the rest were doing. Printers had to be unboxed ( 4 of us girls did that in like 1 hr yesterday-the boys took half a day at another school!!), laptops opened and chords seperated. I have been at the 3 new schools in Lake County. Adri will be teaching at Grassy Lake, one of the new schools. They all are basically the same. It has made learning the floor plan very easy!
The photos are from our morning yesterday. Yes it took all morning to do those monitors! Between the twisties, rubber bands and tape I don't think they could have made it any harder to get the job done! Despite it feeling like it was a forever job, the lead seemed to think we got them done in record time. Adri starts back to school on Monday and I will be completing 3 more schools next week.
