Sat morn had Rick, Adri and me up bright and early. Rick and I were off to Venice for a peaceful day at the beach and Adri and some friends were driving to Gainesville to go to a friends wedding. We drive up 50 to get to the 75 and along that 35 mile stretch we saw gas price ranges that were ridiculous! The lowest was 2.26 9/10, the highest was 2.79 9/10. Needless to say we immediately went-lets stop at the 2.26 on the way back ( we had filled up at 2.49 9/10)! I think this is the earliest we ver got out of the house and even after getting gas and stopping at Publix for subs we were there by 10AM. last month they had red tide and the effects were still evident. Piles and piles of shells and areas where there were small dead fish. Most of the fish were already decomposed to mainly bone. Some areas smelled a bit rank. Any way, the day was gorgeous, the beach had very few people on it and it was a fantastic shark tooth day! Oh Steven, you would have wanted to take home a bucket or two of the debris! The best spot was where the most shells were but I didn't figure that out until late in the day or else I could have had three times as much stuff!
The plate has all the teeth I found. The biggest tooth is the biggest I have found at Venice. We also picked up some other treasures like fish vertabrae and turtle shell and a hollowed out crab leg. Oh Rick had found some cute little crab shells. I will have to take pictures later and post them.
Adri had a good time at the wedding. They drove up in street clothes (1 1/2 hr drive) and I asked where they changed......... in the local Publix. She laughingly told me she changed back into her reg clothes in the car-guess she takes after her dad!
