HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Happy Halloween! Hopefully this picture makes up for me being a dud this aHalloween. Oh, I have the candy and will be all happy to see all the cute little ones that come by, but this is the first year I didn't buy a pumpkin for carving. The last few years I got one and no one seemed that interested in dealing with the slimey insides and you know who gets stuck doing that! Actually last year no one carved it at all and it lasted until summer!
Adri was home this weekend and we just watched movies and had a good time. We went to Jennifer's (the bride) and saw all the weddding photos and the photos from her honeymoon. She let me borrow the CD's (there were 7!!) of all the photos so I could get the ones I wanted made. Still struggling with the back ground and letter colors for her scrapbook. I need to get out to the Memories store I guess.
Hope you all have a fun Halloween and don't get too scared by the goblins. Think about this lovely huge (yes it was quite large) spider hanging over all those snotty teenage boys that have no business trick or treating, too bad it was on the bike trail and not over my front door!

Gators

Obviously we went bike riding down the same trail again today. This time we counted 8 babies at Humpy's pool. There are distinctly 6 bodies (numbered) in one group and 2 in another! We also found 3 babies at the pool under the 2nd bridge. In the past that has been a good spot for seeing babies. 3 is a very small number but as the weeks go on we hope to spot more there. Mama was doing an excellent job if hiding, but with babies frolicking you can bet she was right there!
We also saw 3 young racoons. A sight we have never seen on the trails. They were starting to cross the bike trail when we happened by so they scurried up the nearest tree. 2 hid on the back side of the tree and the other just stared at us. Unfortunately he was back lit but you can get the idea. They were adorable!

Frogggies in the morning

I went to cycle laundry and stopped when I saw a dark lump in Red's water dish. Wondering what it was I turned on the light and had to laugh when I saw this frog. Basil had inconsiderately left the bedroom door open in the middle of the night and this is what hopped in. Red wasn't that happy to see it when she went to take a drink! She jumped back about 6 inches and had the frog hopping too!

Scrapping the wedding

I am working on a scrapbook album for Adri from when she was a bridesmaid. I think she was just gorgeous that day (well heck, every day!). the color of the dress is giving me a little difficulty. It is a beautiful gold but for some reason the pictures make it seem a bit warmer toward the copper colors. Any suggestions? I can't seem to find a color that matches for the writing. I have used a white rose and green but was hoping to write in gold. One of the bridesmaids is missing from the 5 girls, and the one with Rick, Adri and me is with the bride and groom.

On the Trail

Rick and I went bike riding for the first time in a long time. It has just been plain old too hot. Today was gorgeous! It seemed it was going to be a butterfly day. They were flitting around everywhere. We decided to ride to Humpy's pool (a gator) and were we ever glad we did! We spotted a foot long baby gator, then 3 more, and then another, and while we are sure there are more our count ended at 6 babies. At first we didn't see mama (only babies shown), but one knows she will be close, and she had her eye on us! I quickly got back on my bike when she started moving!!
There were also a few Great Blue Heron in the water along the trail. The tortoises were sunning (not shown) and would scurry down their holes as soon as they noticed us. They got a bad rap when they were accused of being slow. It is great to have nice weather again and even better to be back on the trails.

The Collage

As you can see it has finallly posted!

10-14

Thought I would make an overall collage of my trip. It is always so nice to go back home. While it seemed just as hot there as here I guess it wasn't. My fingers tell me it is hotter here. Almost as soon as I got home they started swelling. They were down right boney in California!
Hmmm. It seems the upload isn't working right. I'll try later.
I just did the huge Costco run and the joy of bagging and putting it all away. At least we have meat for the next month! I am going to post and see if it really did upload or not.

Uncle Cecil's 90th

I just got back from California. I went for my Uncle's 90th birthday celebration. Saw lots of Family I had not seen in ages! We had a great time. It was an open house over 2 days. I went both days and stopped in again one last time before I left for Florida. It was wonderful!
I was out for 1 week and did some other visiting too. I stayed with my mom a few days and we went to Sea World. We saw a dolphin that had been born just that morning. It was 4 feet long!! I stayed a few nights at my friend Noreen's house housesitting and watching her dog Annie. I saw my sister-in-law, Terri, and niece, Megan. As always I stopped by the dance studio and caught up on the studio news. I even was able to meet up with Diane and Cherryl spur of the moment. Always wonderful to see them. My last day I lunched with Noreen, Cecilia and Patsy.C is in the midst of getting ready for her daughters wedding. It sounds fun and kind of like a nightmare at the same time. Patsy has done a mural with broken plates on her wall that is really cool. Makes me wonder if my jungle theme could be done similarly. Attached are pics from the celebration. The handsome guy in the hat is Uncle Cecil!
